Chronicles of my internship @ Deltecs : Neeraj Kumar, NIT

I am Neeraj, currently doing my final year of engineering in National Institute of Technology (NIT), Silchar. I am very pleased that an opportunity has been given to me to share my brief and lovely encounter with Deltecs Infotech Pvt. Ltd. I worked as an intern here for two months and now they have kindly accepted me as an employee. Being a lazy person I would say this was the best thing that came to me during this hectic placement season.

At the end of the 6th semester my college’s Training & Placement cell told me that there is an opening for internship at a company named Deltecs Infotech , would you like to apply for it. Initially I was very reluctant to apply as I found out that it was a start-up. But when one of my seniors (who worked here as an intern before me) told me about the work people were doing here, it really captured my interest & then I decided to apply which was followed by a sudden telephonic interview. In the interview they asked about me, my college projects, object- oriented programming, html, SQL, PLSQL. They just wanted to know whether I had any experience of working with these languages. I just told that I am not very fluent with any of these, but I have some knowledge about them. Next day they told me that I have been selected.

On my first day at the office in Dahisar, I was wearing formal clothes without formal shoes (this data is of no relevance!) and was interviewed by Darshan Jadhav, who is Product Engineer at Deltecs. He asked me about my previous experience with .NET framework. After that I got my first task of preparing a presentation about .NET framework in which I fumbled and tumbled around towards completion. So, after the conclusion of the first day I was sure that these people meant work, that I am going to learn something & that there is no need of formals (cool computer science engineers!!(Which I realized after 1 month that it wasn’t true)).
